Lifetime Installation Warranty

1. Two warranties, two companies

Your windows and doors are protected two ways. The product (glass, vinyl, balances, locks, screens) is warranted by the manufacturer against defects, for the term stated in the manufacturer's warranty. The installation (how those units were fitted and sealed into your home) is warranted by us. This document is our installation warranty. We help you file manufacturer claims when a product part fails.

2. Who is covered, and for how long

Mr Windows Houston warrants the installation workmanship to the original purchaser, for as long as that purchaser owns and lives in the home at the installation address, under normal use. This warranty is personal to the original purchaser. It is not transferable, and it ends if the home is sold or the title otherwise transfers.

3. Lifetime Leak-Free Guarantee

For as long as you own and live in your home, if water is leaking into your home and the cause is the glass or our installation, we correct it at no cost to you. This covers the labor for the repair directly caused by the leak.

We also correct, at no cost, air infiltration around the frame and binding, misalignment, or operation problems that are the direct result of our installation workmanship.

The caulk we apply is part of that installation and is guaranteed for the first 2 years. After that, re-caulking is normal home maintenance (see Section 6).

A leak from any other source is a billable service visit. See Section 4.

4. What is billable

These are billable service visits. We are glad to handle them, and we give you a written price before we schedule the work:

• Leaks from any source other than the glass or our installation, such as the roof, siding, stucco, brick, masonry, dormers, gutters, flashing not installed by us, the foundation, or any other part of the building.
• Re-caulking after the first 2 years. The caulk we apply is guaranteed for the first 2 years as part of our installation. After that, keeping it fresh is normal home maintenance. See Section 6.
• Installing a manufacturer warranty part once the manufacturer's labor period has passed, such as swapping a foggy or failed insulated glass unit that is not actively leaking water. The manufacturer supplies the part; our labor is billable. See Section 5.
• Accidental or impact glass breakage. Broken glass from an accident, impact, or other outside cause is not an installation defect, so our labor to replace it is billable. On select MW Vinyl and MW Aluminum product lines the manufacturer's warranty covers the replacement glass itself for accidental breakage. See Section 5.
• Clearing clogged weep holes and correcting the drainage problems they cause.
• Service caused by homeowner error or improper maintenance, such as windows left open or use of harsh cleaners or solvents.

5. Manufacturer product service and labor

When a covered product part fails, most commonly a failed glass seal that fogs the glass, the manufacturer supplies the replacement part under its own warranty. The manufacturer pays the labor to install a warranty part for a limited time, typically the first year after installation. After that period, the manufacturer supplies the part and our visit to install it is a billable service. If that same glass is actively leaking water into your home, the fix is covered at no cost under Section 3.

On select MW Vinyl and MW Aluminum product lines, the manufacturer's coverage also includes accidental glass breakage for the life of the product warranty. On those windows the manufacturer supplies the replacement glass at no charge even when the breakage was accidental, and our labor to install it is billable. This coverage varies by product series and is defined by the manufacturer's warranty for the window installed.

6. Homeowner maintenance

To keep this warranty in force, the homeowner agrees to:

• Maintain the caulking. The caulk we apply is guaranteed for the first 2 years as part of our installation. After that, keeping it fresh is normal home maintenance, like exterior paint. Because the Houston climate is hard on caulk, we recommend a check about once a year, and we recaulk the affected windows as a service visit when needed.
• Keep weep holes clear of dirt and debris so the windows drain as designed.
• Clean with mild soap and water only. No solvents, abrasives, or petroleum-based cleaners.

7. How to request warranty service

Contact us promptly after you notice a problem:

We schedule an inspection and determine the cause. If water is leaking because of the glass or our installation, we correct it at no cost. For any other cause, we explain it and give you a written price before we schedule the work. A diagnostic or trip fee may apply and is disclosed before we schedule the visit.

8. What is not covered, conditions, and limits

This warranty does not cover, and we are not responsible for:

• Alterations by others. Any repair, tint, coating, or seal work performed on the units by anyone other than Mr Windows Houston. This voids the warranty on those units.
• Damage from outside causes, including accidents, abuse, impact, forced entry, building settlement, fire, flood, wind-driven objects, hail, lightning, and other acts of God.
• Condensation from normal indoor humidity, which is not a defect.
• Providing access equipment such as scaffolding or lifts to reach units above standard ladder height. Reasonable access is the homeowner's responsibility.

This warranty applies only to units installed by Mr Windows Houston and only at the original installation address, and is void if the account for the original installation has not been paid in full. To the extent allowed by law, our responsibility is limited to correcting covered installation workmanship and covered leaks as described above, and to the labor for the repair directly caused by the leak. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages beyond that. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights under Texas law, which vary.
